Gilda de Bal / Meetje

Gilda De Bal (1950) graduated from the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. From 1975 to 1995 she worked as a regular theatre actress with, successively, the KVS in Brussels, the Arca in Ghent, the Blauwe Maandag Co and Toneelhuis in Antwerp. At the same time she often appeared in all kinds of TV series and films such as Heterdaad, Transport, Aspe, De Verlossing, Stille waters and the travel programme 2XEnkel for Canvas. In 2004 Gilda won the Dutch Colombina award. She has been a freelance actress since 1995.

Gilda has become famous among the general public as Matti Tomasetti in Heterdaad, the mother of all detective series on Flemish TV. In Sedes & Belli she played the Vic De Wachter's wife, who happens to also be her life partner.
